And The Winner Is. TIME's person of the year for 2017 was a series of women who have spoken out on sexual harassment and the blatant abuse of power by men over the years. Their fight has been one that's a long standing battle for equality for women.

Missing Person. While the list is an admirable one, filled with strong and courageous women for sure, some feel TIME overlooked a major piece of that movement: Kesha.

The Voices. According to the magazine, this year's choice was made based on the women they felt were the best representation of the women's movement against sexual harassment. They were seen as inspirations to others "to speak out about the inappropriate, abusive and in some cases illegal behavior they've faced," the magazine stated.

Anger Over Swift Choice. Some fans have even expressed anger over the magazines choice to add Taylor Swift but ignore Kesha. An article in Bustle quotes one Twitter user, @MothrOfTurtles as saying "How can Time claim Taylor Swift as a “””silence breaker””” for her one case about herself when Kesha exists as a voice for victims of sexual assault as well as herself??"

Stop Shaming. Other users are still upset Kesha didn't make the cut, but aren't having the blame game played by shaming other victims and voices who were picked. "Why can’t y’all just say 'I can’t believe TIME didn’t include Kesha' instead of 'ugh I hate Taylor Swift so I’m gonna act like I care about abuse victims and Kesha to diminish what happened to her'" Bustle quoted @AfricanKhaleesi as saying.

Nothing But Love. Ironically enough, while some fans of Kesha have been hating on Swift's nod for the cover, Kesha and Swift reportedly have nothing but love and respect for each other as people and artists. Bustle quoted a Rolling Stones article in which Kesha told reporters of Swift: " (she is) a f***ing sweetheart. Very, very sweet, very, very genuine, extremely generous, picks up the phone every time I call her. My mom doesn't even always pick up the phone!"

Stop Comparing. One Twitter user said it best by saying, "Should Kesha have been on the cover? Yes. Her case made a massive impact. Is it Taylor Swift’s fault that it wasn’t? No. Stop discrediting, demeaning and comparing Taylor’s assault to others. ALL forms of sexual assault are important and Taylor’s case had a massive impact," according to Bustle quoting @swiftsmagician.

Kesha's Story. According to reports, Kesha's story began in 2014 when she accused her producer of sexually assaulting her. Her producer filed a counter-claim stating she was only after him for money and publicity and vehemently denied the allegations.

A Hard Fought Battle. Kesha's case drug on for three years. During that time she was forced to put her career on hold. If she was doing it for money or fame, it wasn't happening during those three years.

Legal Statement. During the legal proceedings for Kesha's case, her lawyers pleaded with the courts for a speedy decision, citing the severity of strain it was causing her career. Their legal statements included just how dedicated Kesha was at following through with the case.

Their Statement. According to Bustle, the legal plead from Kesha's attorneys stated, "Until this Court rules on the declaratory judgment claim, Kesha...cannot work with music producers, publishers, or record labels to release new music. With no new music to perform, Kesha cannot tour. Off the radio and stage and out of the spotlight, Kesha cannot sell merchandise, receive sponsorships, or get media attention."

Standing Strong. Throughout the three year battle, Kesha stood strong by her beliefs and followed it through to the end. Now, three years later, she was finally free to create and release her own music again.

Lyrical Therapy. Many of the lyrics in her new album hit close to home for the artist. Some of which include the songs "Praying" and lyrics that state simply, "no more monsters, I can breathe again," according to Bustle.

Choose Your Battles. It's easy to understand the frustration over Kesha's shade by the folks at TIME, but at the same time, it's important to see the bigger picture too. That is that there is now a voice - a loud voice - that is growing stronger for women and men who face sexual misconduct and abuse on every level. And that's a beautiful thing.
